During the first stage of the Mozilla Responsible CS Challenge, Ethics Lab worked with several Georgetown Computer Science professors to co-design and co-facilitate embedded ethics exercises for their courses. Through the second stage of the challenge, two of the exercises developed with Professor Ray Essick for his Advanced Programming course—Inclusive HCI and Networked Systems—were shared with faculty partners at other institutions for testing and feedback.

Following positive feedback and helpful suggestions from CS faculty at Wellesley College and Prairie View A&M University, Ethics Lab is pleased to share an updated version of the Inclusive HCI exercise for public viewing and download. (The Networked Systems activity is currently undergoing further revision and testing here at Georgetown and will be shared at a later date!)

If you adapt the materials for your class, the team would love to hear about your experience. Drop them a line at ethicslab@georgetown.edu.
