Delivering a new model for high impact ethics courses

Our novel approach to action-oriented ethics courses, developed over a 3-year sandboxing phase, attracts students from every school at Georgetown. New courses have launched in Data Ethics, Social Media & Divided Democracy, and Bioethics.


Graduate-level courses are being added to provide a pathway for advanced study in emerging areas.

A nationally recognized innovator in infusing ethics across the curriculum

Our pioneering methodology for integrating ethics into science and policy courses has worked with programs in every school at Georgetown, connecting with over 30 faculty partners and reaching over 650 students.


Ethics Lab’s partnership with Georgetown’s Computer Science department has won funding from Mozilla Foundation’s prestigious Responsible CS Challenge in recognition for its innovation in training technologists ethically.

Empowering organizations at the front lines of building a better society

In the past 3 years, Ethics Lab has helped nearly 20 organizations, providing ethics-centered workshops to help them grapple with complex ethical stakes and find actionable opportunities.


Partners have included Harvard researchers constructing a new privacy-preserving algorithm; a pharmaceutical company team working to defend patient interests; a museum team developing a public exhibit on democracy; and a team developing ethics guidelines for a national network devoted to data sharing for the common good for the Sloan Foundation.
